My Story

Topsy  is a proud Wagadagam and Dowareb woman with ancestral ties to Mabuiag and Murray Islands in the Torres Strait. With over 30 years of experience in human services and community development across Government and non-Government sectors, she is a dedicated advocate for empowering individuals
and communities.

Specialising in cultural advisory services, strategic planning, and advocacy, Topsy delivers cultural awareness training and helps organisations build cultural capability through knowledge-sharing and tailored strategies.

Topsy has spent the past 15 years leading change for families impacted by domestic and family violence. Her expertise earned her a Ministerial appointment to the State Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Domestic & Family Violence Prevention Group.

An active community leader, Topsy has coordinated major events such as Townsville NAIDOC and Mabo Day celebrations for over a decade. As a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, she serves on multiple community-controlled boards and advisory groups, contributing to policy and program development.

Passionate about self-empowerment, Topsy is committed to helping individuals overcome barriers, reclaim their influence, and reach their full potential, skills and self-worth.
